About Me.

Larbi-Stephen (1).jpg

Throughout my life, I have earned numerous leadership awards and was elected twice into political office as a member of the Pawtucket School Committee. Ironically, growing up, I was quiet and never thought of myself as a leader. That changed during my sophomore year at the University of Rhode Island: Helder Tomar, a friend and classmate since Baldwin Elementary School, was shot and killed. Since then, I have dedicated my life to working with youth and families throughout Rhode Island. I have had roles such as the Director of Teen Programs at the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket, School Culture Coordinator at Providence Public Schools, and my current role as the Director of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at Crossroads. These varied experiences have equipped me with the tools, insight, network,  and determination to advocate for those I serve.

"This community has been my home for the majority of my 35 years, and I’m deeply grateful
for the experiences and values it has instilled in me. As a father to a beautiful 4 year old
daughter, Amarie, and a community advocate, I am ready to step up and fight for you on the
City Council. Everytime that I look in my daughter’s eyes, I know how much is at stake and
how important the future is for our community."
